Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.2 launched on 9 September 2026 with two new agents, Claret and Roxy, a brand new agent specialty called Armorer, three free Angels of Delusion outfits, and a run of events headed by Clink Clank Pinball Night. Phase 2 is still live until 20 October, so most of what follows is playable right now.
The Sacred Spear covered the 37 minute special programme in an 18 minute breakdown. This page follows his order, section by section, and fills in the values the broadcast kept vague. Every frame below carries HoYoverse’s “under development” watermark, because the programme aired before the version shipped. Three weeks of live play later the numbers are settled, and where the broadcast and the live game differ, the live game wins and the page says so.
The 3.2 Banners
Two phases, one new agent each, each paired with a rerun from the Angels of Delusion.
| Phase | Dates | New agent | Rerun |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | 9 to 30 September 2026 | Claret, Electric Armorer, with Crimson Thirst | Nangong Yu, with Neon Fantasies |
| Phase 2 | 30 September to 20 October 2026 | Roxy, Wind Stun, with Crimson Moon Casket | Promeia, with Frostfall Sickle |

Nangong Yu is the game’s anomaly-focused stunner, which made her an awkward pairing with Claret and a good one with anyone running anomaly. Promeia, on Phase 2, buffs Abloom damage, so she slots into Velina and Remielle teams rather than Roxy’s. Both windows are on our banner schedule.

The Armorer Specialty, the Big Change
Armorer is the seventh agent specialty, alongside Attack, Stun, Anomaly, Support, Defense and Rupture, and the first since Rupture to change the damage formula rather than the role. It arrives with five moving parts.
| What other agents use | What Armorers use instead | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| ATK scaling | DEF scaling, through Sharp DMG | DEF% on Disk 6 and DEF substats become the damage rolls |
| CRIT DMG | Laceration DMG, fixed at 150% | No CRIT DMG buff in the game raises it |
| CRIT Rate capped at 100% | A second roll on the overflow | CRIT Rate keeps paying up to 200% |
| Anomaly gauge | Gash gauge, three stacks | Spent by Maim rather than by Disorder |
| Energy | Sharpness | No Energy Regen stat to build for |
| Dodge or parry a control skill | Counter Assist | Breaks the control skill outright and triggers a Stun |

Sharp DMG reading DEF where everything else reads ATK is the decision that shapes the whole build, and it creates a support problem the game has not solved: Rina is the only agent in Zenless Zone Zero whose buffs reach a Sharp DMG number. The Sacred Spear expected a new DEF buffer soon. None has been announced as of 1 October 2026.
Laceration is the other half. A Sharp crit does not multiply by CRIT DMG; it applies Laceration DMG, fixed at 150%, which nothing in the game raises. CRIT DMG survives as a conversion stat on Claret alone.

The broadcast left the ratio vague. The shipped kit sets it at 0.35% CRIT Rate per 1% initial CRIT DMG, and the word doing the work is initial: the CRIT DMG on her sheet before the fight, not a buff handed to her during it. That is why King of the Summit, a staple CRIT DMG buff elsewhere, does nothing for her.
Gash is the gauge Armorers apply in place of the Anomaly gauge, capped at three stacks, and Maim is what spends it for extra damage and a combat buff. Hold the Special rather than tapping it and Claret detonates every stack at once, one callout per stack.

The mechanic that drew the most attention is not a damage one. When an enemy starts a control skill, swapping to an Armorer opens a clash: win the button-mash prompt and the control skill is cancelled outright and a Stun triggers. Other specialties dodge or parry those attacks. An Armorer ends them.

The notice promises the same to Defense agents in a future update, with no version attached. It had not shipped as of 1 October 2026.
Claret, the First Armorer
Claret is an S-Rank Electric Armorer and the agent the specialty was built around. Her loop is short: hit to build Sharpness, spend it on the EX Special to enter the blood axe form, keep attacking to stack Gash, then spend the Gash with the blood axe Special for Maim. Her blood axe basic attacks carry perfect dodge windows, so the stacking phase is not dead time.

She leads the Crit DPS tier on our ZZZ tier list, built around Thorned Rose 4-piece with Disk 4 CRIT Rate, Disk 5 PEN Ratio% and Disk 6 DEF%. Her signature is Crimson Thirst. The comps are on our Claret teams page.

Roxy, the First Wind Stunner
Roxy fights with a coffin-shaped hammer and summons tornadoes that group small enemies, which covers the gap in a DPS with no grouping of their own.

Her kit runs on a channelled EX Special. Hold it longer and she builds more Wind Energy, up to three, shown under her portrait. Releasing turns each into an Eye of the Storm, and at three she detonates them and summons another tornado.

She buffs CRIT DMG and Laceration DMG for the squad, and her Additional Ability switches on when the squad holds an Attack, Rupture or Armorer agent, which is why she slots far beyond Claret. Triggering Windswept also lets teammates apply Contamination for bonus direct damage. Her comps are on our Roxy teams page, and her signature is Crimson Moon Casket.
The Free Angels of Delusion Skins
The most unusual thing in the programme started as a joke. A KFC collaboration in China shipped a paper bag, players worked out that cutting the bottom off turned it into a tank top, and the meme reached the development team. Producer Zhenyu’s response was to put the outfits in the game and give them away.

Three outfits, for Nangong Yu, Aria and Sunna. Two are obtainable in 3.2 and the third in 3.3. The first comes from a login event, where day 14 grants an item that picks one. The second comes from clearing every stage of Clink Clank Pinball Night. The requirement, in the letter’s own words, is taking part in the events. No wallet involved.
Every 3.2 Event
Clink Clank Pinball Night is the headline. Quackyboo sets up a pinball machine, you score by defeating enemies, and different agents act as different balls. Accessories for Belle and Wise along the way, and the second free outfit for a full clear.

Diary of an Orbi Parent is the version’s raising event, a Tamagotchi in all but name, paying Polychrome and a title.

Detective Crow and Hubble return from the 3.0 event, picking up the thread Sigrid left about Berylum, this time around someone smuggling character data out. The combat simulation rerun is the other one worth noting, because it lets you trial Claret properly before deciding whether to pull.

Alongside them: the usual login events granting 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 coupons, and double drops on levelling materials and Drive Discs, which is when to farm Thorned Rose. The live calendar is on our events page.
Operation Bagel
Developer Y came on to explain that Operation Bagel now alternates regular season updates with themed ones. 3.2 is a regular season: exclusive gear for Claret and Roxy, more reserving valuables, a higher high-risk investment limit, and reset leaderboards.

The addition worth knowing is the Break-Even Beacon, which summons Booji to carry your loot out mid-run, so a run that goes wrong afterwards does not cost you everything. Two horse-head accessories were added at 2,000 season coins each. Seasonal challenges reset at the next version, and the reward for finishing them is the level 60 S-Rank technical prism blueprints.
Shiyu Defense and Deadly Assault
Both endgame modes got new rotations and new enemies, including a camouflaging mech and the story’s own antagonist. The adversity boss for the rotation is Faith in Discord Horizon, which has a control skill, which is exactly what an Armorer’s Counter Assist is for. Hollow Zero’s Lost Void added technical prisms for Claret and Roxy. Current comps for both modes are on our best teams page.
The Free S-Rank for New Players
The free limited S-Rank selector introduced for the anniversary was kept on for 3.2. New accounts that finish the beginner guide missions pick one of Jane, Hugo or Soldier 0 Anby, plus one of their limited S-Rank W-Engines.

No double dipping: anyone who already took the anniversary selector cannot take this one as well. The whole roster is on our agents page if you are weighing the three.
Koleda’s Rework
Koleda got the last of the standard agent buffs, and it is aimed squarely at the new specialty. She gains a visible Furnace Fire stack counter, can be swapped out early during her enhanced basic attacks, and grants the team bonus damage when she spends the stacks. Crucially she also buffs CRIT DMG and Laceration DMG, the same pair Roxy buffs.
That makes her the standard-banner alternative for Armorer squads, which matters more than usual given how thin Claret’s support pool is. She still works in the ordinary Attack and Rupture CRIT DMG squads.
The Perfect Assist Flash Change
A small change with real consequences. Before 3.2, a gold flash meant the incoming attack could be perfect-assisted by somebody on the team, without telling you whether that meant a defensive assist or an evasive one.

From 3.2, gold means defensive assist is available and red means it is not. The useful case is the one that used to be ambiguous: a red flash on a team of defensive-assist agents now tells you plainly that nobody can parry it, so perfect dodge and swap instead. The Sacred Spear noted a red flash should also appear when you are out of assist points, and read the change as life support for evasive assist rather than a revival.
What 3.2 Teased About 3.3
The trailer showed Phoenix, already seen in the Berylum teaser, including a back view of her in-game model with the red pack her fire wings come out of. Then the Chinese broadcast of the same programme showed one extra shot the global one did not: the pinball event’s agent options.

The Sacred Spear spotted a white-haired man in that grid, guessed it was Severian, and called it pure speculation that he and Phoenix would be the 3.3 pair. Drip marketing has since confirmed both: Phoenix opens 3.3 on 21 October and Severian follows on 11 November. Their kits and provisional comps are on their pages.
One Correction, for the Record
The programme opened with a redemption code. The auto captions on the video hear it as “Flynn Works” for 100 Polychrome, and the screen disagrees on both counts.

The code is FLINTWORKS, the bundle is larger than 100 Polychrome, and the expiry is printed on the frame: 30 August, 23:59:59 UTC+8. It is long dead, which is why it is not on our ZZZ codes page. That page carries only codes tested in game, with the date of the test on it.
ZZZ Version 3.2 · FAQ
7 questionsWhen did ZZZ Version 3.2 release?
Version 3.2 went live on 9 September 2026. Phase 1 ran from 9 to 30 September with Claret and a Nangong Yu rerun. Phase 2 runs from 30 September to 20 October with Roxy and a Promeia rerun, so it is the half still live as of 1 October 2026.
Who are the new agents in ZZZ 3.2?
Two: Claret, an S-Rank Electric Armorer and the first agent of the new specialty, and Roxy, an S-Rank Wind Stun agent and the game’s first Wind stunner. Their signature W-Engines are Crimson Thirst and Crimson Moon Casket.
What is the Armorer specialty in ZZZ?
The seventh agent specialty, added in 3.2. Armorers deal Sharp DMG, which scales off DEF instead of ATK, and their crits pay a fixed 150% Laceration DMG rather than using the CRIT DMG stat. They build Gash on enemies and spend it with Maim, charge their EX Special with Sharpness instead of Energy, and can break enemy control skills with Counter Assist.
How do you get the free Angels of Delusion skins?
Two of the three are obtainable in 3.2 and the third comes in 3.3. The first is from a login event, where day 14 grants an item that picks one of them. The second is from clearing every stage of the Clink Clank Pinball Night event. The producer’s in-game letter confirms all three are free.
Why do Armorers want CRIT Rate above 100%?
Because the overflow is not wasted. Once CRIT Rate passes 100%, the excess rolls a second Laceration check, and a hit that passes both lands two instances of Laceration DMG. 200% CRIT Rate is the ceiling, where every hit double crits.
What changed about the perfect assist flashes in 3.2?
Before 3.2 a gold flash meant the attack could be perfect-assisted by somebody, without saying how. From 3.2 a gold flash means defensive assist is available and a red flash means it is not, so a red flash on a defensive-assist team tells you to perfect dodge instead.
Which free S-Rank can new players pick in 3.2?
Jane, Hugo or Soldier 0 Anby, plus one of their limited S-Rank W-Engines. It requires completing the beginner guide missions, and it is for new accounts only: anyone who already took the anniversary selector cannot take this one too.
