Zenless Zone Zero Version 3.3, “Journey to the Sky”, releases on 21 October 2026 with Phoenix, an S-Rank Fire Anomaly agent, and a Velina rerun on Phase 1, then Severian, an S-Rank Wind Attack agent, and a Norma rerun from 11 November. The livestream code was JRNY2SKY, and it expired on 11 October. The programme also confirmed Robin and Kafka from Honkai: Star Rail as playable agents in 3.4.
The programme aired on 9 October 2026 and The Sacred Spear covered it in an 18 minute summary the next day. This page follows his order. Every frame below carries HoYoverse’s “under development” watermark, so names and numbers can still move before launch. Where the broadcast and our agent data disagree, both are given and the page says which is which.
The ZZZ 3.3 Livestream Code

The code on screen is JRNY2SKY, short for the version’s title. The card lists the bundle as 300 Polychrome, Dennies, Senior Investigator Logs and W-Engine Energy Modules, and prints the expiry as 10.11, 23:59:59 (UTC+8). HoYoverse writes these month first, so the code died on 11 October 2026, two days after the broadcast. The Sacred Spear reads it out at 0:14 as “JRny to Sky”; the frame is the reliable version.
It is not on our ZZZ codes page, because that page only lists codes we have tested in game and this one was already dead when we checked. Every working code is there, with the date of its last test.
ZZZ 3.3 Release Date and Banners
Two phases, one new S-Rank each, each paired with a rerun from the season so far. The dates are the ones printed on the programme’s banner slides.
| Phase | Dates | New agent | Rerun |
|---|---|---|---|
| Phase 1 | 21 October to 11 November 2026 | Phoenix, Fire Anomaly, with Plume of Rebirth | Velina, Wind Anomaly, with Joyau Doré |
| Phase 2 | 11 November to 1 December 2026 | Severian, Wind Attack, with Incarcerating Grip | Norma, Ether Stun, with Chief Sidekick |

The pairings are deliberate. Velina is the reason Phoenix’s finisher works so well, because her Cyclones keep an Attribute Anomaly on the target for Phoenix to turn into Abloom. Norma is a Stun agent, and Severian’s Additional Ability switches on with a Stun or Support agent in the squad, so she is the banner’s answer to his field time. Both windows are on our ZZZ banner schedule.

One naming note. The programme’s English cards call the two new signatures Plume of Rebirth and Incarcerating Grip. Our W-Engine pages still carry the names read from the pre-release client, Nirvana Plume and Cage of Forbidden Sins, with the stats from that client. They are the same two engines; the shipped names will be settled on 21 October.
The 3.3 Story: Booastrum, Phoenix and the Original Sunbringer
3.3 picks up from the 3.2 cliffhanger. Booastrum is locked down, and the only way back in is through an occupied skyport. Phoenix, the newest Krampus Compliance Authority judge, last seen crashing into Vyrium with a strongbox, is forced to travel with Severian, the Public Security commissioner. The Sacred Spear points out that the strongbox looks very like the one Fairy came out of at the start of the game, and doubts that is a coincidence.

Severian is Seth’s brother, and he arrives on the Mayor’s orders: the Mayor knows about the lockdown and sends him to Roscaelifer to help restore order. The Sacred Spear expects friction between the factions before they work together, which is also the premise HoYoverse’s own summary gives: can a Krampus judge and a Public Security commissioner put their differences aside.

The new toy is mechs. The Sunbringers are Enchainers built with the original Sunbringer’s power, Genesis Reconstruction, and in 3.3 that same power builds High Ambitions mechs for the party to pilot through the airship dock. The programme said more mech battles will follow in later versions, which makes this the newest form of the Mecha Bangboo events.

The trailer ends on its biggest reveal. Behind a door at the top of the airspace control tower, a Sunbringer clutches a porcelain figure holding a Hollow-like sphere. The horns and the Void Hunter cloak make The Sacred Spear read the figure as the original Lady Sunbringer, still imprisoned, which matches what the Bangboo revelations in 3.2 implied. That is his reading of a trailer shot, not something the programme stated.

The trailer closes on a lighter shot: all three Sunbringers in casual outfits on stage with guitars. He takes it as a hint that more outfits are coming, and suggests saving Polychrome accordingly.

Phoenix: S-Rank Fire Anomaly, Kit and Role
Phoenix is an S-Rank Fire Anomaly agent from the Krampus Compliance Authority, and her Core Passive is the headline: it lets Attribute Anomaly damage land critical hits. Our agent data, read from the pre-release client, puts numbers on it. Any anomaly the squad triggers marks the target with Scorch for 20 seconds, and anomaly damage against a Scorched enemy crits at a base 30% CRIT Rate for 25% CRIT DMG, plus 0.7% CRIT Rate for every point of Anomaly Mastery above 155.

That is the same idea as Jane’s critical Assault, widened to every attribute. The Sacred Spear wonders whether it lets Remielle’s damage crit too, and whether Jane’s and Phoenix’s crit bonuses stack. Neither was answered on the broadcast.
Her loop runs on Pyre, the gauge in the top left of her portrait. Burning Attacks refill it. At 90 Pyre (it caps at 120), holding Basic Attack throws her scissors and follows them in with a flying kick, Sin Pyre, which triggers Abloom off whatever anomaly is already on the target.

Her EX Special has two parts at 40 Energy each: the first opens a Perfect Block window, the second is airborne. The Sacred Spear spotted a dot under her portrait that only the second part fills, and a move that spends it without touching Energy, so the programme rewards doing both halves.
Then there is the gimmick. Phoenix is the first agent who can be defeated and come back: switch her back in and she revives at 50% HP, once every 1,200 seconds. Her Ultimate is a kamikaze dive that spends her own HP, after which a follow-up heals her and triggers Abloom. That makes the revive mostly a Hollow Zero and Operation Bagel safety net rather than an endgame tool.

Where she fits: an on-field Fire Anomaly agent, the opposite of Burnice, who works off field. The Sacred Spear expects her to complete the Remielle and Velina Season 3 anomaly squad, and is less sure how she sits in Disorder squads, because she needs field time to build Pyre and only a few of her big moves trigger Abloom. Our provisional comps are on the Phoenix teams page.

Severian: S-Rank Wind Attack, Kit and Role
Severian is an S-Rank Wind Attack agent with a greatsword and demon-lord claw attacks, and an on-field DPS built around dodging. He carries Flicker stacks, the two dots on his UI. While he holds one and is not already dodging, an attack that would hit him spends a stack to dodge automatically into a counter. Our data gives him two stacks on entering the field and a flat 60% CRIT DMG from his Core Passive.

Every dodge, automatic or not, banks Flow, which caps at 120. At 100 Flow, holding Basic Attack spends it on Azure Wind Shadow Hunt, a string of dashing slashes and his main burst. The programme added that he can trigger the counter just by being hit mid-combo, a parry by another name, so he rarely has to stop attacking to stay safe.

His EX Special combines claws, slashes and a wind blast for 40 Energy. Hold it and he keeps spending Energy to prolong it: the normal version grants one Flicker, the full version two. His Ultimate banks 100 Flow, a guaranteed Shadow Hunt, so The Sacred Spear’s rule for a Stun window is two hold Basic Attacks at the very least.

The programme did not mention Wind anomaly changes, so The Sacred Spear reminds viewers of what already exists: once Windswept is triggered, Contamination adds 30 seconds of bonus direct damage, and it always applies to Wind agents. Roxy buffs CRIT DMG and should keep Windswept up almost permanently. Our provisional comps are on the Severian teams page.
Both agents get an EP and a character demo before their banners open.
New Outfits in 3.3
Paid outfits are back in quantity. Phoenix gets the Empty Daydreams set, two takes on a Japanese school uniform on top of a swimsuit, complete with a chuunibyou eye patch. Like Remielle’s, they come as a bundle with a bigger total discount.

Severian gets Solemnly Impeccable, the suit he wore when the story introduced him, for players who prefer the sleeker look. The higher tier of the battle pass features Crow and Hobble this time. And the free one: the third Angels of Delusion outfit, the KFC bag meme made real, comes from the Halloween event below, after the first two in 3.2.

Every ZZZ 3.3 Event
| Event | Type | Headline reward |
|---|---|---|
| Login event | Login | 10 Encrypted Master Tapes and 10 Boopons |
| Spooky Funhouse Tales | Halloween card event | Candlelit Scheme (A-Rank Armorer W-Engine), the third Angels of Delusion outfit |
| Cyber Miracle Healer on Duty | Maze minigame | The Season 3 maze with new mechanics |
| Trails of the Hobbling Crow | Story event | Crow and Hobble, someone has tried to kill Crow |
| Repair! Drifting Art | Picture puzzle | The returning picture puzzle event |
| Data Bounty: Combat Simulation | Combat | Double Combat Simulation rewards |
| Enigma of the Labyrinth: Spooky Trial | Operation Bagel | Limited Halloween trials, valuables and buffs |
| Double drops | Farming | Drive Discs and levelling materials |
Spooky Funhouse Tales is the headline. Lumina Square is dressed for Halloween, the Spook Shack crew and Phoenix run a haunted funhouse van, and the mode is deck building: the van activates your chosen cards from left to right to scare visitors off, with builds to chase, including cards that use agents.

Its reward is the one to plan around: a free A-Rank W-Engine for the Armorer specialty, called Candlelit Scheme in the programme. Our W-Engine data lists it as Candlelight Scheme, with a DEF% substat. The free Rupture engine came late in Season 2, so this one is early. For now Claret is the only Armorer who can use it, and The Sacred Spear expects one or two more Armorers in Season 3.

The detective thread continues. Trails of the Hobbling Crow opens with an attempt on Crow’s life, and The Sacred Spear likes the idea of a side plot for the NPCs that runs the length of the season. Repair! Drifting Art brings back the picture puzzle, and the usual double drops make 3.3 a good time to farm the Drive Discs on our Drive Disc list. The live calendar is on our events page.

Operation Bagel: the Spooky Trial and the Permanent Changes
The big co-op mode gets a Halloween layer. Spooky power candles spawn on the map; take them to the new Spookies tactics table to start a series of trials, and each one you clear grants new valuables and a buff for the rest of the run. As with everything in Operation Bagel, you can stop early and cash out what you have.

Trial chests and ordinary chests also drop a Candle Core, which has to be extracted. Back in town, Spookies Recycling buys them at a set price, or you can visit a friend’s shop for a better rate on the day. The Spooky Trial is limited to the version.

The permanent changes: high-risk runs can now hold three Mimic Substances, and collecting all three in a single run fuses them into a new valuable with a chance to be worth double. 3.3 also adds more agent gear, access cards and valuables, a Big Bad Wolf headpiece and a limited Full Moon Homecoming accessory.
The optimisation slide is specific. On PC, item interaction hotkeys, left click to open boxes, and the scroll wheel while dragging an item. On mobile, the Basic Attack button can interact with items outside combat. Controllers get hotkeys too. Every platform gets a discard button inside containers, and tactical items can be used straight from a container. Sound effects keep playing with the map open, and agent-exclusive Tactical Prism Blueprints in the Store now show the agent’s portrait.
The last line is the news: “Version 3.4 will bring the first themed season update, along with a brand-new map!” The Sacred Spear had taken the Halloween layer for a themed season. It is not one.

Annihilation Simulacrum: Three New Bosses
Annihilation Simulacrum gets three new bosses for its second round, each with new fight mechanics and score rewards. If you have not cleared the current batch, finish it before 21 October. Current comps for the endgame modes are on our best teams page, and the agent ranking on our ZZZ tier list.

Quality of Life Changes
The agent guide can be opened from more menus, and a new team recommendation feature explains how to play the suggested squads. The broadcast showed it with placeholder text, so how useful it is stays to be seen. Newer agents get better in-game tutorials, and the Proxy profile now shows what each level unlocks and how to raise your Inter-Knot reputation.

Outside the game, a Discord event is announced for 11 November 2026 on the official server. The slide says “coming soon” and nothing more.

The Honkai: Star Rail Collab: Robin and Kafka in 3.4
The programme ended on the news players were waiting for. Zenless Zone Zero sends Ellen and Astra Yao to Honkai: Star Rail, and receives Robin and Kafka. The collab is confirmed for Version 3.4. 3.3’s second banner ends on 1 December, so 3.4 starts in early December. No kits, attributes or specialties were shown.
The Sacred Spear plays Star Rail and offers his expectations, labelled as guesses. Robin is a singer and a buffer whose Ultimate overrides the background music, Star Rail’s equivalent of Astra Yao, so he expects a support of some kind, and hopes for an Evasive Assist, a type the game has not added since Pulchra. Kafka is a Lightning character whose kit triggers damage over time on demand, which maps onto Electric Anomaly and the Abloom mechanic. The swap of the two divas, Astra and Robin, also makes a shared song likely.
He also notes the timing: Lady Sunbringer is on the horizon too, so 3.4 will compete for the same Polychrome. Planning starts with the banner schedule.
