Robin comes to Zenless Zone Zero in Version 3.4 as an S-Rank Ether Defense agent from the Honkai: Star Rail collab: she shields the squad from off-field, every Robin Shield adds 25% DMG for 15 seconds, and she raises the squad’s DEF by up to 1,000, the stat Armorers deal damage with. Everything below comes from the 3.4 beta, so the numbers can still move before release. Whether she is free has not been confirmed as of 30 October 2026.

Razor_ct published his breakdown on 25 October 2026, the day after the beta data surfaced. He reads the kit off the beta text, plays it, and runs the squads through the zzz.analytics.moe leaderboard. His conclusion is in the video’s title: Robin is the support Claret has been missing since the Armorer specialty arrived in 3.2, and the one every Sunbringer team on that leaderboard uses. This page follows his order, quotes his slides where the numbers matter, and says where the screen and the commentary disagree.

When Is Robin Coming to ZZZ?

In Version 3.4. HoYoverse announced the collab at the end of the 3.3 special programme on 9 October 2026: Robin and Kafka come to New Eridu, and Ellen and Astra Yao go the other way to Honkai: Star Rail. The current banner schedule has Severian’s Phase 2 running until 1 December 2026, so 3.4 opens straight after it, in early December. HoYoverse had not published the 3.4 phase dates as of 30 October 2026, and the exact day lands when the 3.4 programme airs.

3.4 is crowded. Sunbringer, the Fire Armorer HoYoverse revealed on 22 October, is the version’s headline limited agent, and Kafka shares the collab with Robin. Razor_ct’s point is that Robin is the piece that ties 3.4 together: Sunbringer’s strongest beta squads all have her in the third slot. Our Sunbringer guide covers the other half of that pairing.

Is Robin Free in ZZZ? How to Get Her

Not confirmed. As of 30 October 2026 HoYoverse has said Robin is coming and nothing about how she is distributed. Razor_ct opens his video by saying she “definitely has to be free”, and his reasoning is about the roster rather than any leak: Armorer teams, Sunbringer’s included, want her so badly that locking her behind a limited banner would be awkward. Treat that as his expectation, not a fact.

What he does expect to cost Polychrome is her signature W-Engine. At 3:34 he says it is “supposedly” coming through a W-Engine banner, and the beta card below still carries a placeholder name. So the honest answer to “how to get Robin in ZZZ” today: wait for the 3.4 programme, which will say whether she is an event reward, a login gift or a banner, and save for the W-Engine either way if you run Armorers. Our ZZZ codes page lists the free Polychrome that is still redeemable.

Robin the Agent Is Not Robin the Bangboo

Searching “Robin ZZZ” turns up two different things. ZZZ already has a Robin Bangboo, an S-Rank Bangboo from the Mockingbird crew whose card trick Active Skill deals Physical or Ether damage. That page answers questions about the Bangboo. This one is about Robin the agent: the Halovian singer from Honkai: Star Rail, drawn in ZZZ’s style, who plays as a Defense agent. The two share a name and nothing else, and neither boosts the other.

Robin’s Kit in the 3.4 Beta

Robin scales on her initial Max HP. Her shields, her DEF buff and her extra damage all read that one number, which is why her W-Engine and her build lean on HP% rather than ATK. The kit has four parts, and the table puts the numbers in one place before the detail.

0:37. Razor_ct’s summary of the Core Passive and Additional Ability, from the 3.4 beta text. Footage: Razor_ct; © HoYoverse.

The Core Passive is the reason she exists. A 25% DMG bonus that every shield refreshes is a buff the whole squad keeps for the whole fight, because her Aftershocks reapply shields every 8 seconds. The Energy line ties her to Armorers specifically: Maim is the Armorer move that spends Gash, so a squad with Claret or Sunbringer pays for her Enhanced Aftershocks for free.

The DEF buff is the number to understand. Off-Field Guard gives 80 DEF for every 1,000 HP above 16,000, capped at 800, so Robin needs 26,000 initial HP to reach the cap, which Razor_ct also says out loud at 1:31. A Buff Enhance Point pushes the same buff to 1,000. That is a flat DEF number, and Armorers turn DEF into Sharp DMG, the reason the Armorer specialty needed a support of its own.

She has two burst moments. Robin Entrance, at 100 Entry Points, is a heavy Ether hit with a 2128.8% multiplier at skill level 12 and another squad shield. Her Ultimate is the safety valve: it converts 40% of each agent’s current Robin Shield into direct healing, so a squad that has kept its shields up all fight gets a heal when it needs one.

How to Play Robin

Razor_ct calls her “very straightforward”, and the loop bears it out. She spends most of the fight off-field, and you only swap to her to cash in Entry Points.

  1. Open with Robin Exit. Enter the fight with the Buff Enhance Point her Additional Ability gives when a Stun or Armorer agent is in the squad, and cast Robin Exit (Special Attack) to spend it: the squad gets +1,000 DEF, a Robin Shield (+25% DMG) and a Quick Assist.
  2. Stay off-field. Swap to your damage dealer. Every 8 seconds Robin fires an Aftershock, refreshing shields and the 25% DMG bonus and building 20 Entry Points, and an Enhanced Aftershock when she has 40 Energy.
  3. Re-enter at 100 Entry Points. Swap back to Robin: Robin Entrance spends the points on an Ether blast and a squad shield and grants a new Buff Enhance Point.
  4. Cast Robin Exit again. Spend the new point at once on an enhanced Off-Field Guard, use the Ultimate when it is ready, and repeat.

The Additional Ability matters most in the opener. Without it, Robin needs roughly 32 to 40 seconds of Aftershocks to earn her first Buff Enhance Point; with a Stun or Armorer agent in the squad, her very first Robin Exit already grants the enhanced 1,000 DEF. In Domain Mode the point comes back once every 180 seconds, according to the slide.

Robin’s Signature W-Engine

The beta card shows a Defense W-Engine with Base ATK 48 to 713 and an HP% advanced stat of 12% to 30%, under the placeholder name “Robin Test Engine”. Its passive has two halves. When the equipper applies a shield, the whole squad’s DEF rises by 10% for 10 seconds, extended up to 25 seconds by repeated shields. When the equipper launches an Aftershock, the squad’s DMG rises by 10% for 15 seconds, stacking twice for 20%.

Both halves trigger off things Robin does every 8 seconds anyway, so on her the passive is close to permanent: +10% DEF and +20% DMG for the squad on top of her kit. Razor_ct rates it highly, and his fallback is weak: the only alternative he can name is an A-Rank with an HP stat, or a W-Engine like César’s, which gives up the HP% Robin scales on. If you pull for anything in 3.4 for Robin, he argues, it is this.

Robin’s Mindscapes

The beta had two Mindscapes, both titled “Placeholder”. Mindscape 1: each time Robin consumes Enhance Buff Points, all squad members gain 20% Laceration DMG for 60 seconds, and Robin gains a stack of Feather Defense, which she spends to make the on-field agent briefly Invulnerable when they take a hit. Laceration is the Armorer crit damage type, so this is another Armorer-only buff.

Mindscape 2: when Robin triggers an Aftershock, DMG dealt by all squad members ignores enemy RES for 15 seconds, and shielded agents get a higher Anti-Interrupt level. Razor_ct reads the RES number as 20% at 5:05; the text on screen says 12%, and this page follows the screen. His view is that M2 is the stronger of the two and he wishes the order were swapped. Neither is required: everything above is the M0 kit.

Best Robin Teams in ZZZ

Robin is an Armorer support. Razor_ct’s calcs, from the zzz.analytics.moe leaderboard’s “Beta 3.4.1 Archive” as updated on 25 October 2026, all use M0 agents and R1 W-Engines. They are beta numbers in neutral content, a way to compare squads, not a promise of what you will score.

Two things stand out. First, every Sunbringer squad in the top of the list runs Robin. Second, the two Armorers together are worse than either with a Stunner: Claret, Sunbringer and Robin sits at 504,575, well under Sunbringer with any Stunner. Razor_ct’s Sunbringer video explains why: only the agent who triggers Maim gets its multiplier, and Sunbringer triggers it on her own.

For Claret owners the gain is real but small. Claret, Roxy and Robin beat the existing Claret, Norma and Rina squad by about 14,000 DPS, roughly 2.5%. The practical win, Razor_ct says, is that you can now run two Armorer squads at once: Claret with Rina, and Sunbringer with Robin. Today’s Claret squads are on her teams page.

Which Stunner to Pair With Robin

Robin’s Additional Ability wants a Stun or Armorer teammate, so the third slot is a Stunner in most squads. Razor_ct’s neutral-content numbers put Roxy about 7% ahead of Norma for Sunbringer, while reminding viewers that enemy weaknesses can flip that. The leaderboard lists Norma as Fire; our own agent data has her as an Ether Stunner, a disagreement we have flagged for checking.

His advice is to wait before pulling a Stunner for Sunbringer. He expects a new limited Stunner around 3.5 or 3.6, as the best partner, the way earlier Void Hunter-level agents got one. In the meantime Ju Fufu is getting a potential unlock in 3.4 and could be the stand-in, and Koleda works if you have nothing else. If you already own Roxy or Norma, keep them: second or third best still clears content, and only score chasers will feel the gap. The overall order of agents is on our tier list, and the squads that already work are on best teams.
